What is it with this week? Seems like things are going badly for lots o' folks in music. Hawthorne Heights have decided to sue their label for sabotaging their reputation and for lack of royalty payment. The Dixie Chicks have cancelled a full 14(!) shows, as a result of pissing off their red-state country fan base -- despite having sold 2 million copies of their new album. And then there's the bodily harm issue.

SAN DIEGO'S STREET SCENE FESTIVAL HOSTS A SERIES OF MUSICAL MISHAPS
As reported on RollingStone.com's Rock Daily blog yesterday, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE apparently cancelled their appearance at the San Diego Street Scene Festival this past weekend due to a video shoot gone haywire. Another band that performed at Street Scene told us that drummer BOB BRYAR suffered burns from wayward pyrotechnics and singer GERARD WAY broke his ankle. A spokesman for the band confirmed the injuries but insisted, "I don't think it's as serious as people have been saying." MCR's cancellation wasn't the only bad news surrounding Street Scene: According to "The San Diego Union-Tribune," at least fifteen people were injured during TOOL's headlining set Saturday as fans rushed toward the stage. The incident happened halfway through the band's second song, causing singer MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN to say, "Step back so you don't get trampled. It's just rock."
