The minute you hear Madeleine Peyroux's cover of Elliot Smith's "Between the Bars," you'll be forever a fan of this jazzy chanteuse. It'll pave the way for more melodically moody meditations on Billy Holiday for a new generation. I'm hooked.
Can't wait to catch her NY show at Town Hall on 10/25. Back in my home state of MI, I'd be catching her in Ann Arbor. If I still lived in Boston, I'd be making a bee-line for the Berklee Performance Center. Back in NoHo, I'd be catching up with her at the Calvin Theater.
