TRAVEL ADVISORY: Head to the UK for V Festival

Get out and see the world. Better yet, get out and see how the world throws festivals! After all, festivals are a great excuse to travel, considering they're held in some of the most unusual settings (Iceland anyone?), and the cost of tickets and camping still net out to less than you'd spend on a hotel room. You'll experience the sights, sounds... and smells... that make up a truly profound cultural experience. And if you pick the right fest, the carefully curated, ne'er-to-be-repeated lineups guarantee that you'll catch some once-in-a-lifetime performances worth writing a postcard home about.

This is precisely the case with the V Festival. The UK's famous two-day fest spotlights the best of BritPop with a little dash of Yank thrown in here and there. Fans of both indie underground acts and chart-toppers alike will find something to satisfy. And if you're just a tabloid junkie, there's even Babyshambles to provide endless hours of speculation and countless photo ops for the paparazzi wannabes. What's that old saying? Oh yes, "Have Doherty, will tattle."  Or something like that.
